Drug-Alcohol-Facts-Week-1024x643 (4)

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week:

March 31

What are the most commonly abused substances? Alcohol tops the list. Many people use – and abuse – alcohol. According to estimates of the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 percent of U.S. adults 26 years old or order were heavy drinkers. People also abuse many other drugs, including nicotine and marijuana, as well as a wide variety of prescription and nonprescription drugs. Abusing substances can lead to dependence, tolerance, and addiction. It can be deadly, but caring and effective treatment can help.
